The International Firestop Council (IFC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing fire and smoke containment in building construction through education, training, and industry standards. It serves contractors, inspectors, manufacturers, and code officials by providing certification programs and technical resources to support proper firestop system design and installation.
Project Overview
We supported the rebuild and ongoing enhancement of the International Firestop Council’s website, focusing on content migration, directory functionality, and overall user experience improvements. The project involved transitioning legacy content to a new platform, ensuring link integrity, and refining key resource sections to better serve industry professionals.
A key component of the project was the development of a custom Certificate Holders Directory, including a full user management system. Certified members can log in to manage and update their own profiles, while administrators can create and manage users through a custom registration workflow. This includes automated email notifications that provide users with access to their profile and instructions for maintaining their information.
Additional work included custom PHP development to support dynamic directory data, resolving data inconsistencies, optimizing page layouts for print and PDF use, and addressing various UI, responsiveness, and post-launch performance issues.
